23 January 2011 - Dhamma Talk & Blessings

Svagatam!  We welcomed the arrival of the venerable Ajahns to Nalanda Centre.

The Ajahns were delighted to browse the complete romanised Pali Tipitaka set available at Pustaka Nalanda.

Mr. Lee Kong Foo, the President of Nalanda Buddhist Society, led the congregation in making offerings to the Triple Gem.

After the guided meditation by Ajahn Vajiro, the devotees listened to the Dhamma and
asked questions to clarify doubts.

23 January 2011 - Dhamma Talk & Blessings

In conjunction with the visit of the venerable Ajahns to Nalanda, we have arranged for a Dhamma talk, blessings and lunch dana during the Service Sunday on 23 January 2011.  Bring along your family members or friends and devote the Sunday to wholesome activities.  See you!

9 January 2011 - National Service

Hosting of National Service's trainees at Nalanda Centre for the sixth consecutive year.
The trainees were introduced to the basic devotional practice as part of their training at Nalanda.

The hymn singing session was conducted by the students of Nalanda Vidyalaya. 
It is one of the creative ways to introduce teachings of the Buddha to teenagers today.

The trainees were challenged to think of ways to create the longest line. 
From the picture, you can see socks, handphones, strips of papers, etc. on the floor.  It was fun!

Through games, the trainees were encouraged to learn wholesome values and develop positive characters. 



9 January 2011 - Bhavana Day

Ven. Amaranatho conducted the mindfulness retreat at Nalanda.

Today's Agenda : Breath in ;  Breath out.

Besides sitting and walking, we also practised mindfulness in eating.

31 December 2010 - School Honours Day



Well done to Nalanda Vidyalaya and all!

has led the School dutifully throughout the year 2010 and
there will be another milestone for the School in 2011.

This year, Garuda won the 2010 Challenge Trophy, congratulations!
The House Captain, Yeo DiSheng received the trophy from Mr. Lee, President of Nalanda Buddhist Society.

Choo Yi Kang won the Best Overall Student Award.

The Gold Medalists : Choo Yi Kang, Ng Xeyiing and Yeo DiSheng.
