Weekly Programme Update (5 - 11 March 2012)

This week, we have the following programme lined up for you:


Full-Moon Uposatha Service
Date: 7 March 2012, Wednesday
Time: 8pm - 9.30pm
Venue: Main Shrine Hall, Level 1, Nalanda Centre

In conjunction with the full moon day this month, we will have Puja, Sitting Meditation and a short sharing session.


Monthly Dhamma Discussion
Date: 9 March 2012, Friday
Time: 12pm - 1.30pm
Venue: Pustaka Nalanda
Topic : What Buddhism Is Not

Generally, there are various interpretations on what Buddhism is.  Unfortunately, most of the remarks are not in accordance with the teachings of the Buddha.  During this session, we will identify or make known the various misinterpretations about Buddhism.  The participants can use this platform to ask questions and clear their doubts about Buddhism.

English Language Learning Workshop Part 1 for Secondary School Students

Nalanda Buddhist Society 9th Annual General Meeting

Time: 9am - 12pm
There will be no Service Sunday this week due to the Nalanda Buddhist Society 9th Annual General Meeting. Service Sunday will resume on 18 March 2012.


Meet-the-Author Session with Dr David Robert Loy
Date: 11 March 2012, Sunday
Time: 3pm - 4.30pm
Venue: Level 3, Nalanda Centre

Dr David Robert Loy, the author of “The Great Awakening : A Buddhist Social Theory” will share with us his insights on the social importance of the Buddha’s teachings, and how these aid in the development of social well-being.  Come and join us this Sunday to discuss face-to-face with the author!  To find out more about this book, please click here .
