As a prelude to Service Sunday, Bro. Tan shared with the congregation the 5 purposes of going to temple. They are : 1. to build moral foundation; 2. to calm the senses; 3. to learn the Dhamma; 4. to perform public service or wholesome deeds; and 5. to learn social grace and refinement.

During the Service Sunday, and in conjunction with the Sep 11th incident, Bro. Tan shared about the three roots of conflict which are greed (lobha), hatred (dosa) and delusion (moha).  He emphasized the importance of Peace, Love and Safety, and especially this - "Peace begins with Me".

After the Service, all the adults proceed to the soccer field and started the tree planting activity, a community service to beautify the environment which we live in.  Taman Sari - Nandanavana (a beautiful garden named Nandanavana) is a garden by all, for all.
