Nalanda Community Service Initiative 2009 - Phase 1 Completed

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Greetings!

On behalf of Nalanda Buddhist Society, we thank you for your great effort in collecting used red bricks over the month, as well as joyfully taking part in the 1st Phase of Nalanda Community Service Initiative 2009 held on 22 and 23 August 2009. Many friends had come in their “ever-ready” gotong-royong attire and well-equipped with their gardening tools to participate in this meaningful activity.

During those two days, the road shoulder at Jalan 18/42 had been cleared and planter boxes were built using the 1,700 pieces of used red bricks. This garden will be named Taman Sari Nandanavana – the Garden of Joyful Delight.

The collective effort from all in making the 1st Phase of the project successful is really remarkable. Following this, the 2nd Phase, which involves tree and shrubs planting, will be held on 19 and 20 September, from 8am to 10 am, and 5pm to 7pm for both days. We would like to invite you and your family members to bring some plants and top soil on those tree planting days. You may also plant some trees in honour of your loved ones.

Thank you! May you always rejoice in good deeds.

With metta,
Buddhini Tan
Assistant Secretary,
Nalanda Buddhist Society
