Dear Brothers & Sisters,
Namo Buddhaya!
This week is one of the busiest at the construction site of the new building. All the contractors are speeding up their work at the New Nalanda Centre, especially at the Main Shrine Hall (Level 1), to be completed before 19 September.
All the laying and installing of stones at the Main Altar were started with Puja as seen in photograph no.1. After the puja, the workers started to put in the mortar (photograph no.2) and the stones were laid. Next came the installation of the stone onto the backing wall where the Buddha-Rupam will be located as illustrated in photographs no.3 & 4.
Besides, the final installations for electrical and painting works are in progress at Level 1 (photographs no.5 & 6). Installations of air-conditioning compressors and plastering works have been completed for Level 1 (photograph no.7). As for Level 2 and 3, plaster ceiling works are still on-going together with tiling works and other electrical services (photographs no.8 & 9).
Lastly, the process of washing the Slate Stones and floor finishes at Level 1 especially at the Main Altar has commenced and shall continue until the handing over of Main Shrine Hall to Nalanda on 19 September (photograph no.10). We are expecting to perform our last official Puja at the old Nalanda Dharma Centre on 20 September. All are invited to join us on this symbolic and memorable occasion.
It is now less than 90 days to the officiating ceremony of New Nalanda Centre on 11 December. However, as of today, the Building Fund is still short of RM 810,000.00. You may channel your donations through direct bank-in to Nalanda Buddhist Society’sBuilding Fund (Account No.: 150-000-132-12) with Hong Leong Bank Berhad. Alternatively, you may post a cheque to:
